It was reported that Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka won in the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Imperial Barrel Award which was competed by different African universities.
The said university came first with a score of 79.33%. Helwan University in Egypt got the second place, while the Federal University of Technology in Akure got the third place.
It was gathered that 8 Nigerian universities participated in the said competition including Federal University of Technology (Owerri), University of Lagos, University of Ilorin, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Federal University of Technology (Akure), University of Ibadan, and University of Calabar.
