Yesterday, Governor Chime Sullivan exited the league of "absentee governors" which still boasts of the likes of Governors Suntai and Imoke of Taraba and Cross Rivers states respectively, as he was flown aboard a British Airline back to the nation capital, Abuja.
However, his exit from this unpopular league of absentee governors wont be complete until he arrives his assumes office back home after a medical trip that took over three months.
Fillers reaching us is the Gov, Chime will return to Enugu today. The embattled governor, as previously reported by News Express, arrived Nigeria’s capital city Abuja early this morning aboard a British Airways flight from London and was promptly driven to the Enugu Lodge in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“He is due back in Enugu, Friday, February 8,” a dependable source close to the Enugu State Government House told News Express.
The source disclosed that Chime “is now conferring with family, friends and top government officials, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Odo, who was in the advance party to Abuja to receive the governor.”
News Express learnt that another delegation of the Enugu State Government is on the way to Abuja to join in escorting Chime back home today. Meanwhile, news of the governor’s return has triggered off jubilation in Enugu. Chime, who underwent surgery in Britain, was away from Nigeria for nearly 140 days, sparking fears about his fate, especially as the state government claimed that he was OK and had only gone on his accumulated leave.
